JENESYS 2016 Day Two

Today, we woke up to a pleasant surprise as our breakfast was comprised of foods which represented the participating countries.
(From top clockwise) Pork sausage, bacon, curry sauce, more pork, pasta in meat sauce, roast pork (John)
Scrambled eggs from the western section (Yanlin)

After our hearty breakfast, we quickly moved out to catch the bus to Haneda International Airport to leave for Memanbetsu Airport, Hokkaido.

The view from the window was stunning!!

We had to spend half our day travelling to our destinations, but it was worth it as we were able to experience one of Hokkaido's museums, the Okhotsk Ryu-hyo/Tentozan Observation Museum.

The museum has a drift ice exhibition which talks about what drift ice is, how it is formed and what lurks within (there are several sea creatures that only live in such an area).

These little critters were really interesting. They moved on their own! (Arins)

Besides that, there was also projection mapping on hexagon walls instead of the usual flat wall that showed the sea creatures that live in drift ice.

The illusion theater also had a similar appearance, but it was dedicated to showing a documentary about how drift ice stretches across the sea.

The place also offers an observation terrace, which we were greeted with a practically breath-taking view, as it was four levels up and we decided to take the stairs up instead of the lift.

After the exhibition. we moved on to a conference hall in Kitami City for a short ceremony with the rest of the participating countries.

Our final agenda today was dinner (finally!) at our current hotel, Northern Arc Resort. Japan really is extremely good with accommodation and we are currently in a cozy room to rest for the night and for the next few days as well.

Tomorrow, we will be expecting to play curling with everyone else. Hopefully we don't break the wrong ice :P
